MAC Addresses and Device Identifiers
Each GLANCE device has a unique MAC address used as a device identifier. A MAC address is used to identify the device when it communicates with GLANCE servers.
GLANCE may associate a device’s MAC address with a customer email address so the customer can manage, update, and configure their device through the Setup Portal, the GLANCE iOS or Android app, or other GLANCE-owned platforms.
This association exists so customers can easily configure, update, and manage their device selections.
We use MAC addresses and device identifiers to:
- Identify the correct device
- Allow customers to edit their device selections
- Deliver the correct content, settings, firmware, and configuration to the device
- Provide customer support
- Troubleshoot technical issues
- Prevent abuse or unauthorized access
- Monitor device performance and system health
Because MAC addresses may be used to access, manage, or modify device selections, customers are responsible for keeping their MAC addresses secure and not sharing them publicly.
Anyone with access to your MAC address may be able to view or modify device selections through the Setup Portal, GLANCE app, or other GLANCE-owned device management tools.

User Selections
GLANCE devices allow users to select apps, widgets, sports teams, stocks, digital assets, zip codes, weather locations, clock settings, and other display preferences.

Wi-Fi Information
GLANCE devices connect to a customer’s local Wi-Fi network in order to communicate with GLANCE servers.
During device setup, the customer may provide their Wi-Fi network name and password directly to the GLANCE device so the device can connect to the customer’s Wi-Fi network.
GLANCE does not view, access, or store customer Wi-Fi passwords on GLANCE servers. Wi-Fi credentials are used by the device only for the purpose of connecting to the customer’s network.
GLANCE devices may store Wi-Fi connection information locally on the device as needed for normal operation. GLANCE may also collect limited Wi-Fi diagnostic information, such as Wi-Fi signal strength and service provider information, to assist with troubleshooting, support, and device performance improvements. This information is strictly used for customer support.
GLANCE does not use this information to browse, monitor, inspect, or access the customer’s home network. GLANCE does not access other devices on the customer’s network and does not monitor the customer’s browsing activity.
