GDN Community Highlights: New Sports Apps & What’s Next

As the GLANCE Developer Network (GDN) continues to grow, we're seeing more community-built apps, updates, and new ideas make their way onto GLANCE.

This latest round of community highlights is heavily focused on sports, with a big expansion of football apps alongside updates to NASCAR and Formula 1.

For anyone using GLANCE as a sports ticker, live score display, fantasy football ticker, or part of a man cave or game room, there are a lot of new options coming through GDN.

New Football Apps

The latest GDN pull requests include a full lineup of football facts for professional and college football!!

Together, these apps make GLANCE more than just a live sports ticker by adding fantasy lineup management, waiver tracking, matchup updates, injury information, and league activity directly to the display.

Here is a brief summary of the some new apps released:

• College Football Program History, Stadium Gameday, Coaching Carousel, Stat Leader, Heisman Trophy History
• Professional Football Division Race, Team Leaders ,Record Book, Franchise History,Logo History
• Fantasy Injury Report & Point Leaders

One of the best parts of GDN has been seeing developers take existing GLANCE concepts and push them further.

Whether you're using GLANCE as an LED sports ticker, football score ticker, stock and sports ticker, or sports display for a man cave or office, community-built apps are adding more ways to customize what you see.

And One More Thing...

We've been quietly working on another project for almost a year.

We're building a browser-based GLANCE experience that will let you turn compatible TVs, monitors, and other screens into a GLANCE LED, GLANCE SCROLL, or a combination of both.

We have a much better name for it internally, but we're waiting for the trademark process before revealing it.

Because we won't be limited by the resolution of an LED panel, the new platform will support higher-resolution graphics, more detailed sports layouts, smoother scoring animations, better win animations, and new features designed specifically for larger screens.

The goal is to bring the same live sports scores, fantasy football, financial data, weather, and other GLANCE apps people already use to more screens.

We're initially working toward support for web browsers and Roku, with Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, and additional platforms planned afterward.

Anyone who has purchased a GLANCE SCROLL will get priority beta access.

If you have been a purchaser of a GLANCE SCROLL you will get priority access to the new browser based glance. All users will eventually get access but we are prioritizing scroll users for onboarding.
